Wine Tasting Will Benefit Abused Animals

Jan 29, 03:23 PM

LEWISTON - The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will sponsor its annual wine tasting as part of Auburn's Winter Festival Friday, Feb. 1. The event will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the humane society, 55 Strawberry Ave.

Freeport Cheese & Wine's proprietor Eric Fullagar will officiate the evening's tasting. Tickets are $35 per person and include wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres. All proceeds benefit the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. To purchase tickets, call the shelter at 786-4713. Tickets are limited, so reservations are necessary.

The humane society provides a safe haven for more than 4,500 sick, homeless and abused animals per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.

For more information on the shelter, call 783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org.
