Dead Infant Found Along Texas Highway

The Galveston County, Texas, medical examiner's office plans to use footprints to identify the body of an infant boy found dead along a highway in Galveston.

Police were questioning a woman who had reported her 3-month-old son missing, and were looking for the baby's father, identified as Travis Mullis Jr., 21, KPRC-TV in Houston reported Wednesday.

The dead infant was discovered Tuesday morning by a couple searching for wildlife in the area.

Authorities say a car seat was found some 30 feet from the body.

Investigators told KPRC TV it isn't clear whether the child was thrown along the road or placed there.

The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office was conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Dead Infant Found Along Texas Highway
