ER Visit Part of Lohan Probation

ER Visit Part of Lohan Probation

Jan 18, 06:31 PM

Actress Lindsay Lohan's probation in a DUI case, agreed to last year, includes her participation in a program run by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

However, contrary to published reports, Lohan's attorney said the actress was not ordered to work several shifts in an emergency room and the country morgue.

The Youthful Drunk Driver Visitation Program -- assigned to many people under age 25 charged with drunken driving, including Lohan -- does include two separate components, encompassing an evening in an emergency room of a local trauma hospital and a brief but powerful visit to the Department of Coroner, the coroner's office Web site said.

Lohan's attorney said the actress attended one of the classes in December and would complete the other in June.

Lohan, 21, was arrested twice last year and pleaded no contest to being under the influence of cocaine, driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and reckless driving.

As part of her plea agreement, Lohan was placed on probation for 36 months and sentenced to 24 hours in jail. She was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol-education program and perform 10 days of community service.

Lohan served 84 minutes in jail, earning an early release due to overcrowding, and spent two months in rehab. Her attorney said Lohan had completed 80 hours of community service work with the American Red Cross. ER Visit Part of Lohan Probation
