New England Patriots receiver Randy Moss denies a Florida woman's claim that he beat her and refused to let her get medical treatment.

Rachelle Washington, 35, of Fort Lauderdale, was granted a restraining order that requires Moss to stay at least 500 feet from her home and her car, The Boston Herald reported Wednesday.

The order was issued Monday in Broward County (Fla.) court. A hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 28 in Fort Lauderdale.

Washington said Moss beat her Jan. 6, during his team's bye week in the AFC playoffs.

Responding to the allegations Wednesday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., Moss said he has known Washington for 11 years.

There's a lot of things I want to say and tell everyone, he said. "It's unfair to us as athletes when a situation like this occurs.

I've never laid my hands on a woman. To say I physically, in an angry manner, put my hands on a woman, I've never done that. I've never hit a woman.
