"NEITHER god nor evolution but Intelligent design." That Jason Carter (letters, January 4) states people prefer mythology to science is not true in most cases.

But still, evolution is a theory.

Hence the theory of evolution. It is not fact or an exact science, only a proposal with no proof.

Biochemist Dr Micheal Behe has been able to disprove evolution with his paper on the bacterial flagellum motor. This motor has not evolved and therefore had to be intelligently designed. Darwin did not have the science to look at the cellular structures of our make- up and even scientists today are doubting his theory.

The word god derived from the original texts of the Hebrew bible Elohim, literally translated "those who came from the sky" . A plural word. This was replaced by G-d when the rabbis decided not to write or speak this revered name.

At time of translation into the English bible, the scribes didn't know what G-d meant and decided to add the letter o to make god -- a singular name.

So man was created by the Elohim in their image using their perfect mastery of DNA synthesis. This is the Raelian philosophy -- Intelligent Design, a third option stating all life on earth was scientifically created.

This philosophy, in my view, is the best theology of the bible taking away the mysticism. The Elohim sent the prophets Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha and Rael to help mankind though these repsective epochs to stop believing and start to understand the truth of their origins.

Unfortunately, most of the primitive babblings of the bible make no sense unless read with a scientific eye.
