Egyptian Radio and TV Report on Last Day of US President's Mideast Tour

Egyptian Channel 1 TV's morning news bulletins (0500 and 0800 gmt) - which were broadcast before US President Bush's arrival in Egypt - were observed to make no mention of Bush's Middle East tour. News of the visit, however, topped the TV's afternoon news bulletins (1200 and 1600 gmt), broadcast after Bush's visit to Egypt - which highlighted the US-Egyptian summit in Sharm al-Shaykh.

Nile News TV news bulletins were observed since early morning to lead with news of Bush's visit to Egypt. Nile News TV also interviewed analysts to comment on Bush's Middle East tour in general and his visit to Egypt in particular.

Egyptian radio

The 0600 gmt news bulletin of Voice of the Arabs radio started with news of US President Bush's visit to Egypt as part of his current Middle East tour. The "Viewpoint" feature broadcast in the second part of the bulletin covered Bush's stop in Egypt.
