Clemens Sues Ex-Trainer

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - On the heels of a highly-publicized appearance of CBS' '60 Minutes,' Roger Clemens has sued his former trainer, Brian McNamee.

Clemens filed a defamation suit against McNamee, who has claimed to have injected the seven-time Cy Young winner with both steroids and human growth hormone, in Harris County District Court in Texas.

The suit alleges 15 different statements McNamee made to the baseball drug investigator George Mitchell were "untrue and defamatory," and claims McNamee originally denied Clemens used steroids or HGH when interviewed by federal investigators.

Clemens also claims McNamee changed his story only after threatened with jail if he didn't connect the pitcher to steroids.

Clemens once again denied using steroids on '60 Minutes' Sunday night.

During the taped and edited interview with reporter Mike Wallace, the 11-time All Star was clearly disturbed of the allegations made by McNamee in the Mitchell Report, describing his emotions at one point of the interview as "angry."

Clemens, 45, said that the only thing McNamee ever injected into him was a pain-killer called lidocaine and the Vitamin B-12. He said he never used steroids and disagrees with the use of it, saying that it is just a "quick fix."

"My body never changed," Clemens said. "If he's putting that stuff up in my body, if he's doing that to me, I should have a third ear coming out of my forehead. I should be pulling tractors with my teeth."

"Why didn't I keep doing it if it was so good for me? Why didn't I break down? Why didn't my tendons turn to dust? That's all it's good for. It's a quick fix. I don't believe in that. I don't do it."

Clemens has been under fire since his name surfaced in the Mitchell Report, a Major League Baseball sanctioned investigation into the use of steroids in the game led by the former Senator.

Since the interview, which took place last week at Clemens' home outside Houston, Clemens has been asked to testify to Congress regarding steroid use.

He will also answer more questions during a press conference scheduled for Monday afternoon.
