Report: Jam Master Jay Killer Had Tattoo

Current Headlines: Friends of slain DJ Jam Master Jay say his killer had a tattoo inked on his neck when he shot the hip-hop pioneer, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

The slaying of Jam Master Jay, whose real name was Jason Mizell, remains unsolved after five years, though his friends say there are known suspects.

This is not a Biggie Smalls or Tupac (Shakur) case. This is a case that can be solved, said Randy Allen, 41, Mizell's friend and business partner, referring to two other legendary hip-hop artists whose killings remain unsolved.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the Oct. 30, 2002, killing, Allen told the Daily News Mizell, 37, was in a New York recording studio playing video games when two gunmen burst in, Allen said.

The gunmen told Allen's sister, Lydia High, who worked for Mizell, to drop to the floor and from there she could see a tattoo on the neck of one of the men but could not identify the design, Allen said.
