POLICE are hunting for a school teacher who has fled with her 13- year-old lover.

Buxom Kelsey Peterson, 25, and her pupil Fernando Rodriguez disappeared soon after she was suspended from the school when their affair was exposed.

US authorities have launched a nationwide search for the pair.

Peterson, a teacher and basketball coach at Lexington Middle School, Nebraska, was suspended last week.

She is wanted on suspicion of child abuse, child endangerment and kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Court documents showed authorities recovered emails and letters where Rodriguez and Peterson professed their affection for one another.

Rodriguez, while living at a home for at-risk boys, called the teacher his "Baby Gurl" and said their relationship was "just not about the sex but that it was pretty good".

Prosecutors also said Peterson's school-issued laptop contained letters to the student, including one from April saying she loved him, thought he loved her, was "100 per cent faithful" to him and would always be faithful.

Some of those letters were discovered by her father who turned them over to police.

Peterson's MySpace page indicated she last logged in two days before her laptop was seized.

She said in her profile: "Watch your thoughts for they become words.

"Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become habits."
