Wesleyan College to Get $8 Million for Facility

BUCKHANNON - Officials at West Virginia Wesleyan College hope that a new $8 million addition to its science facility will help make the school one of the state's leading research facilities.

College spokesman Bob Skinner said the 23,000-square foot addition to the Christopher Hall of Science is expected to be completed by March 2010.

The new addition is slated to include classrooms, research labs and a dedicated facility for computer science and math.

Jeanne Sullivan, head of the Department of Biology and Environmental Science, says the new facility will act in part as a biotechnology wing for the college.

The science addition is the second major construction project announced this year, following on plans for a performing arts center scheduled to open for the fall 2009 semester.
