SINGER Britney Spears cannot be videoed in a court hearing over custody of her children, a judge ruled yesterday.

Reports in the US claim a lawyer for the 25-year-old's ex- husband Kevin Federline wanted to tape Spears giving evidence "because the way Britney speaks is as important as what she says".

It had been alleged that Spears - who has had treatment for drug and alcohol abuse - was sarcastic last time she faced Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon.

But her lawyer Thomas Dunlop told the commissioner he feared the tape would end up being leaked to the media.

Mr Gordon told Dunlop at a hearing yesterday morning: "Your client's concern on paper makes sense."

Spears and Federline, 29, were due in court later yesterday to try to work out custody arrangements for their sons Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James.
