Diddy to Surrender for Club Brawl

Current Headlines: Hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs was expected to surrender to police Tuesday in New York to be charged with assaulting a club-goer during the weekend.

The charges stem from an alleged incident Saturday morning at the SoHo club Kiosk, in which Combs and another man reportedly exchanged hostile words about an ex-girlfriend, sources told the New York Daily News.

Combs and the alleged victim, Steven Acevedo, initially traded insults inside the club but after the altercation appeared to be finished, Combs and his bodyguards returned, Acevedo reportedly told police.

The newspaper's sources said Combs knocked Acevedo to the ground with a punch to the mouth and hit him a second time when Acevedo got up.

Combs is expected to turn himself in at Manhattan's 1st Precinct, where he will be served with a desk appearance ticket for a misdemeanor assault charge, sources said.

Acevedo went home after the fight and called police several hours later.

He declined to comment Monday, as did his lawyer, the newspaper said.

Nobody from Combs' camp wanted to comment either, the News said.
