Current Headlines: THE Oscar awarded to Orson Welles for classic 1941 movie Citizen Kane is up for sale - and expected to fetch more than pounds 600,000.

The Academy Award for Best Screenplay goes under the hammer in New York in December.

A spokeswoman for auction house Sotheby's said the Oscar was once believed lost by Welles himself.

It is being sold to raise funds for a charity.
