Tests Reveal Lead in Red Lipstick

Current Headlines: AMERICAN-MADE lipstick contains "surprisingly high levels of lead," according to product test results released Friday by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

The lead tests were conducted by an independent laboratory in September on red lipsticks bought in Minneapolis, Boston, Hartford and San Francisco. The Food and Drug Administration said it would look into the claims and that similar claims in the past have not been confirmed .
