Current Headlines: Lawyers for US pop star Britney Spears have filed an emergency court motion seeking to expand visiting rights with her children, who she lost custody of last week.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline, said he received the motion.

An after-hours call to Spears' attorney was not immediately returned.

Spears was ordered on October 1 to relinquish custody of her children by a court commissioner over concerns about drug and alcohol use. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon granted some rights.
