Current Headlines: California's Department of Justice began serving search warrants in connection with the death of Anna Nicole Smith, TMZ.com said Friday.

Smith, who was a reality TV star, former Playboy Playmate and TrimSpa spokesmodel, died of a drug overdose in Florida on Feb. 8, 2007 at age 40.

Sources told the entertainment news Web site that a warrant was served at the home of Smith's psychiatrist, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich.

Smith's former lawyer and companion, Howard K. Stern, is said to have been there at the time.

Eight warrants have been served so far and TMZ.com said they may be connected to the department's investigation of Eroshevich.

Sources also said the warrants were served at several businesses connected to Smith's doctors, as well as at a storage facility.

The Medical Board of California is investigating Eroshevich, who allegedly prescribed numerous medications for Smith, five days after her 20-year-old son, Daniel, died while visiting Smith and his newborn baby sister, Dannielynn, in a hospital in the Bahamas.
