South President to Discuss Inter-Korean Summit With Predecessor

Seoul, Oct. 7 (Yonhap) - President Roh Moo-hyun [No Mu-hyo'n] plans to meet with his immediate predecessor, Kim Tae-chung [Kim Dae- jung], this week to brief him on the result of last week's inter- Korean summit, Roh's spokesman said Sunday.

"Roh is to invite Kim to a luncheon at Cheong Wa Dae [ROK presidential offices] on Tuesday. Roh will explain the outcome of his North Korea visit and listen to his personal opinions," said the spokesman, Cheon Ho-sun.

Following the meeting with Kim, the president will also separately meet with leading government, political and business leaders at his office Cheong Wa Dae [ROK presidential offices], he said.

Roh and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il [Kim Cho'ng-il] held summit talks in the North's capital, Pyongyang, Wednesday and signed a joint declaration the next day calling for peace and co- prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.

Roh travelled overland to North Korea for the second-ever inter- Korean summit. Kim Tae-chung [Kim Dae-jung] held the first inter- Korean summit with Kim Jong Il [Kim Cho'ng-il] in June 2000.
