Oct 05, 11:04 PM

Current Headlines: Philadelphia police were questioning a man described as a person of interest Friday in the killing of two retired officers in a money truck robbery.

The man was arrested in Northeast Philadelphia, a few miles from the Wachovia Bank branch where the robbery took place Thursday morning, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. He was being held for passing a bad check to lease a black Acura resembling one that appeared on a security camera video of the holdup.

Tips came from an employee of a Bucks County car dealer and from a resident of the complex, police said.

Police found the Acura concealed under a tarpaulin in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The man was getting into another car, a rented white Pontiac, when he was taken into custody.

Joseph Alullo, 54, of Levittown, and William Widmaier, 65, of nearby Fairless Hills, both retired after years with the Philadelphia Police Department were shot dead as they serviced an ATM machine. Both had worked for several years for Loomis, an armored truck company.
