Pete's Flu Message Could Be Life-Saver

Oct 05, 04:21 PM

Current Headlines: PETE Price has launched an annual campaign to get the over-65s vaccinated against flu.

The broadcaster and comic got his flu shot in early as Liverpool Primary Care Trust gears up to give everyone their jabs before winter bites.

Flu is a potential killer for the elderly or people with chest problems, kidney disease or diabetes.

The 61-year-old said: "I am a big believer in the immunisation programme and get vaccinated every year to protect myself against flu.

"I would urge anyone who is in one of the 'at risk' groups to go and get vaccinated as soon as possible."

PCT workers will stage a series of drop-ins at convenient locations around the city where people can get vaccinated.

Last year, 72% of over-65s had the vaccine, and they now want to raise the figure.
