Current Headlines: No. 2 LSU intercepted six passes Thursday night and Craig Steltz had half of them, as the Tigers opened their season by mauling Mississippi State, 45-0.

All six interceptions came off Michael Henig, as LSU defeated the Bulldogs for the eighth straight time.

After playing in the shadow of No. 1 draft pick JaMarcus Russell for three years, Matt Flynn finally got his chance for LSU. He completed 12 of 19 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns.

Flynn also ran for 42 yards, while Early Doucet caught nine passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Mississippi State could manage only 10 rushing yards and 146 yards of total offense.

Henig, who suffered two broken collarbones last year during his sophomore season, completed 11 of 28 passes for 120 yards.
