Current Headlines: STOKESLEY School celebrated a clutch of top performances as A- level results exceeded all expectations.

The overall pass rate was 98%, up by 4% on last year and over half of the grades awarded were at grades A and B.

A total of six students achieved all A grades. These were: Jennifer Adams in biology, English literature, general studies, and history; Duncan Barrigan in chemistry, further maths, maths, French, Physics and general studies; Emily Hall in biology, chemistry, and maths; Jennifer Kitching in art, chemistry, and maths; Kirsty Linkin in biology, English literature, French, general studies and history; and Catherine Pye in biology, chemistry, and geography.

Duncan Barrigan and Katie Clair-Lloyd are off to Cambridge University to study natural sciences.

Headteacher Norman Corner said: "Across the board students are to be congratulated on their successes this summer, with achievements exceeding our expectations.

"Virtually all students have achieved the university places they sought this year. Catherine Pye, Christopher Bayliss and Lianne Thomas have achieved places to read medicine and Martin Tomlinson has achieved a place to read veterinary science."
