Current Headlines: Actor Owen Wilson has asked to be allowed to heal in private after being rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital during the weekend for an undisclosed reason.

I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time, Wilson said in a statement released through his publicist, Ina Treciokas.

The star of Meet the Parents, The Wedding Crashers and The Royal Tenenbaums" was taken to a hospital Sunday afternoon after Santa Monica emergency personnel responded to a medical aid call at the actor's home. The reason for and severity of his hospitalization were not revealed, although several media outlets reported the actor had attempted to commit suicide.

Cynthia Harding, a spokeswoman for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, confirmed Wilson, 38, was transferred to the facility Sunday night after first checking into St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica. She said he was listed in good condition. His parents and brothers, Luke and Andrew, were seen at the Los Angeles medical facility.
