Bus Crash Kills at Least 19 in Malaysia

Current Headlines: An express bus skidded on Malaysia's North-South Expressway and fell into a ditch Monday, killing 19 passengers and critically injuring seven others.

The Malaysian National News Agency Bernama news agency reported the bus was traveling from Johor Bahru to Alor Star. The accident occurred early in the morning near the town of Taiping in the northern part of the country.

Police were quoted as saying those killed included 12 men and seven women.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.

Police said the vehicle fell about 15 feet after crashing into a road barrier.
