Funerals Held for Slain Students

Current Headlines: The three college students killed execution-style in Newark, N.J., were laid to rest Saturday after separate funerals.

New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine and Newark Mayor Cory Booker joined relatives and friends of Dashon Harvey, Terrance T.J. Aeriel and Iofemi Hightower at the services. Natasha Aeriel, Terrance's sister, who was wounded in the shootings, remained hospitalized.

These children deserved better, Corzine told mourners at Harvey's funeral at the Metropolitan Baptist Church. They were representatives of all the hope we carry and we must use their deaths as motive to reject the violence that is so wrong.

The victims were all young people who seemed to have overcome the risks of growing up in Newark. All four were enrolled at Delaware State University this fall.

Police Saturday announced an arrest warrant had been issued for a fourth suspect in the killings, Rodolfo Godinez, also known as Rodolfo Gomez. Investigators said he is an immigrant from Nicaragua whose last known address was in the neighborhood where the shootings occurred, The Newark Star-Ledger reported.
