Al Gore's Son Arrested for Speeding, Drugs

Current Headlines: Police in Orange County, Calif., Wednesday arrested Al Gore III, son of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, on speeding and drug possession charges.

Orange County Sheriff spokesman Jim Amormino said the 24-year-old Gore was arrested early Wednesday morning after he was pulled over for driving more than 100 mph on a freeway. Police said they noticed the small of marijuana in Gore's car, and then found various illegal and prescription drugs in his possession, San Diego's XETV reported.

Police said they found what appeared to be marijuana, along with unspecified amounts of the prescription drugs Adderall, Valium, Vicodin and Xanax.

Gore was released from Orange County Jail in Santa Ana just before 2 p.m. PDT. He walked to a waiting car without speaking to reporters, The Los Angeles Times reported.
