Actor Granville Adams Cleared of Charges

Current Headlines: Actor Granville Adams has been cleared of homicide charges stemming from a nightclub brawl in Chelsea, N.Y., in which a man fell down an elevator shaft.

After prosecutors said the death of Orlando Valle in February at the BED nightclub appeared to be accidental, the judge dropped the charges against Adams, the New York Post reported Saturday.

After a quick hug for his attorney, Adams left court in a very somber mood, saying he will not celebrate his victory and instead his thoughts are with the victim's family.

The man reportedly was fatally injured after jumping Adams from behind while the actor was attempting to break up a fight between the club's coat check girl and a female patron.

Adams hurled Valle off his back into the bottom of an elevator door. The doors popped open, and Valle fell four flights, landing on the top of an elevator car.
