Current Headlines: LISBON Portugal introduced legislation yesterday allowing abortion up to the 10th week of pregnancy, but the law imposed a mandatory three-day reflection period for women seeking the procedure and granted doctors the right to opt out of terminations. The law comes into effect on 15 July. Parliament voted in March to legalise abortion, bringing Portugal into line with most of its European neighbours.
