Current Headlines: HONORS GRADUATIONS DEAN'S LIST

Micah Dombrowski, the son of Dr. Margaret Dombrowski of Lancaster, received the Frank Durrell Enck Memorial Prize at Franklin & Marshall College, where he is a senior physics major and mathematics minor.

The award is presented to the physics major who work in the department has earned special recognition by the faculty and peers.

Daniel Droz, the son of George and Barbara Droz of Lancaster and a graduate of Veritas Academy, was awarded the Michael Albert Lewis Memorial Prize in Physics at Franklin & Marshall College, where he is a first-year student.

The prize is awarded to first-year students in recognition of superior performance in an introductory physics course.

Jordan McDonnell, the son of Jeffrey and Kimberly McDonnell of Columbia and a graduate of Hempfield High School, received the Michael J. Mumma Prize in Physics and Astronomy, the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society Prize and the John Kershner Scholar Designation.

The Michael J. Mumma Prize in Physics and Astronomy is awarded to a graduating senior to recognize outstanding scholastic achievement, citizenship, community leadership and superior potential for future contributions to physics and/or astronomy; the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society Prize is based on research achievement in pure or applied science and includes election to associate membership in the F&M chapter of Sigma Xi; and and the John Kershner Scholar Designation is awarded to students of good and regular standing in the college for proficiency in the departments of physics and astronomy.

Nicole Myers was recently inducted into the Eta Omega chapter of Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta), the National Biological Honor Society at Eastern Connecticut State University, where she is a rising senior majoring in biology with a minor in education. She also was named to the dean's list for the spring semester.

A 2004 graduate of Middletown Area High School, she is the daughter of Beth Bright of Maytown and Richard Myers of Middletown.

Tri-Beta is dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

Liam T. O'Brien received a bachelor of arts degree in modern languages and cultures from Virginia Military Institute, with a double major in international studies, a minor in art history and a minor in economics.

He was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate in ROTC and a Distinguished Graduate with Institute Honors and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

A graduate of Living Word Academy, he is the son of William and Kathryn O'Brien of Lancaster.

Teresa D. Williams received a doctor of education degree from Immaculata University on May 20.

She is the daughter of Doris J. Detwiler of Lititz and the late Dawson K. Detwiler.

Cecil Community College has named two full-time area students to its president's list for the spring semester. They are: Damaris Villafane of West Grove and Anthony Derrico of Oxford.

Also named to the president's list are Cecil Community College were part-time local students Carol Witmer of Holtwood, Christopher Dehart of Oxford, Theresa Sampson of Holtwood, Ian Cooper of Quarryville, Michael Dolor of Lincoln University, Laura Styles of West Grove, Stephanie Hemphill of Nottingham, Thomas Pate of Oxford, Kerri Trice of Oxford, Chelsea Donofrio of Oxford, Susan Jennings of Oxford, William Woolston of Oxford and Lindsay Dilworth of Oxford.
