Adam Eaton pitched four-hit ball for seven innings, and Ryan Howard, Pat Burrell and Jimmy Rollins homered to lead host Philadelphia to victory Monday.

Burrell hit his eighth homer of the season in the second off Javier Vazquez. Howard's 13th homer in the fourth went deep into the second deck in rightfield.

Rollins made it three solo shots for the Phillies in the sixth when he hit his 11th homer.

Vazquez struck out four with one intentional walk in six innings. But the punchless White Sox were shut out for the fifth time this season, tied for most in the AL.

It was Philadelphia's second shutout of the year.

Mariners 8, Indians 7

Raul Ibanez hit two two-run homers and then doubled in the go- ahead run in the ninth to lead Seattle to a road victory.

Jose Vidro started the ninth with a single off Joe Borowski. Ibanez doubled to right-center with one out for his fifth RBI, leading the Mariners to their fourth straight win and eighth in their past nine games.

Ibanez tripled in the seventh, finishing a single shy of the cycle. It was the sixth time he hit two homers in a game, the last coming June 24, 2006, at San Diego.

Cubs 2, Astros 1

Carlos Zambrano mixed his pitches instead of his punches and hit his second home run of the season for host Chicago.

In his first appearance at Wrigley Field since his June 1 fight with catcher Michael Barrett, Zambrano allowed three hits and an unearned run in eight innings.

Barrett got the night off. Koyie Hill caught Zambrano for his second consecutive start since the altercation.

Zambrano hit an opposite-field homer - the 12th of his career - to put Chicago ahead 2-0 in the third.

LATE SUNDAY

Braves 5, Cubs 4 Willie Harris scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch by Ryan Dempster with two outs in the eighth, giving host Atlanta a testy win. Chicago starter Ted Lilly was ejected in the first inning, and Atlanta's Edgar Renteria retaliated with a slap at second baseman Mike Fontenot.

Brewers 9, Rangers 6 Geoff Jenkins hit a three-run homer in the 12th inning, and visiting Milwaukee stopped a three-game losing streak. Prince Fielder connected for his NL-leading 23rd home run.
