Top Email Spammer Facing Jail

Current Headlines: A COMPUTER whizz responsible for millions of junk emails worldwide is facing decades in prison after being arrested.

Robert Soloway, 27, is accused of using "zombie" computers to send out up to 20 million unwanted adverts a fortnight.

In 2005 Microsoft won a pounds 3.5million case against him after he bombarded users with spam.

Microsoft alleged: "He's one of the top 10 spammers in the world."

Court papers say he charged clients pounds 250 to send 20 million spam ads.

Soloway would take over other people's computers using malicious code without them knowing.

He has been charged with fraud, identity theft and money laundering.

Soloway, who drives a Mercedes and has a luxury flat in Seattle, US, is in custody until Monday. He pleads not guilty.
