May 31--No matter how good you think your Memorial Day weekend might have been, there's no way it would ever compare to Lindsay Lohan's weekend.

As you may be aware, early Saturday morning, Blohan crashed her Mercedes SL65 AMG (MSRP: $186,000) at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Foothill Drive in Beverly Hills. She fled the accident and went to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to paparazzi photo blog x17online.com.

Sgt. Mike Foxen of the Beverly Hills Sheriff's Department later revealed Lohan was intoxicated at the time of the accident, leading to her arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.

In addition, the BHSD said during a press conference later Saturday that a "usable amount" of cocaine was discovered in Lohan's crashed Mercedes, leading to the possibility of felony charges.

Obviously, her first stint at rehab didn't pay off, so, on Memorial Day, her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, confirmed to the media that Lohan had admitted herself into Promises Rehab Facility in Malibu. She will stay there for the next 30 days, with the first few days spent in detox.

I recount all this not to poke fun at Lohan, because out of all the starlets whose antics are recounted on my blog "Pop Goes ..." and elsewhere, she's the only one with talent.

Paris Hilton has no talent except for being a walking joke; Britney Spears at one point had talent but has flushed it down the toilet in favor of re-enacting plots from "The Beverly Hillbillies." Nicole Richie has no talent apart from being incredibly skinny and making everyone wonder just how much more disgusting she can look.

Lohan, however, is a decent actress who has good comedic timing. Her hard-partying ways, however, have largely wasted a lot of her potential.

Around the time of the success of "Mean Girls" at the box office is when she started hitting all the hot spots. That was only three years ago; since then, she's gone through a string of boyfriends, been obsessively followed by paparazzi, probably drank gallons of booze, smoked enough cigarettes to give her voice a permanent rasp and already had one stint in rehab.

Gossip blogs like x17online largely track her every move and, based on how late in the evening she's photographed, I don't think she ever sleeps. Many photos of her have been taken at 4 or 5 a.m., and, if you consider she probably has to show up for work only a few hours later, you wonder when she ever finds the time to get some sleep.

Part of the blame for her behavior should be directed to her mother and manager, Dina. Dina Lohan has been quoted in the press multiple times for not only approving of Lindsay's hard partying but often going along with her to nightclubs and other Hollywood hotspots.

Dina Lohan, based on comments she has made and her actions, seems like she wants to be more of a friend to Lindsay than a mother, which is pathetic and sad.

Even though Lindsay Lohan is going to rehab for the next month, I would be surprised if she stopped partying afterward since she clearly enjoys the attention her lifestyle gives her.

It is a great shame the little girl from "The Parent Trap" has turned into such a huge mess.
