[Reporter] The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council left for Madrid today to hold talks again with Javier Solana about the Islamic Republic of Iran's peaceful nuclear technology.

Before leaving Tehran, Larijani told reporters: Suspension is not a reasonable method for solving the Iranian nuclear problem and this reasoning is not effective.

[Ali Larijani] Iran's reasoning is a completely constant reasoning on this issue. It is based on these principles: One, we respect the IAEA's regulations precisely. The IAEA's inspectors can carry out their inspections. We don't want anything beyond our rights, in accordance with the NPT. And we don't have any preconditions for talks and we're ready to hold these talks anywhere. And they, too, must show some kind of change in their conduct in order to benefit from this opportunity that Iran has created for constructive talks. There's no place for the old methods [voice fading out] -

[Reporter, fading in] The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council very much insisted on the following important point: The suspension of the Islamic Republic of Iran's peaceful nuclear technology, whether during the talks or as their outcome, is not an issue and that other solutions can only, only be sought through talks.
