Spector Gun 'Was Forced In'

May 30, 01:42 AM

Current Headlines: PHIL Spector's murder trial has heard that a gun may have been forced into the victim's mouth before she was shot.

Dr Louis Pena testified that a bruise on Lana Clarkson's tongue undermined the defence claim that she put the gun in her mouth and shot herself.

The coroner said: "The bruise is unique and consistent with bluntforce trauma. Something struck the tongue."

Asked whether the bruise was made before the shot that killed the 40-year-old, Pena said it was.

Prosecutor Alan Jackson asked: "If the barrel was placed in the mouth with force, could that have caused bruising?"

"Yes," said Pena, who also testified there were bruises on Clarkson's right arm and wrist.

Music producer Spector, 67, denies murder. The trial continues.
