A US investors' delegation headed by Akbar Muhammad al-Taqi, which is visiting Sudan these days has met some chairmen of committees in the National Assembly.

The meeting discussed Sudan's enormous potential and resources. They said that investing these resources was considered as a step forward towards development in all fields in Sudan.

Members of the National Assembly talked about the tarnishing of Sudan's reputation by the international media and its effect on the flux of investment into the country. They said tarnishing the country's reputation came within the economical war against Sudan.

Furthermore, members of the National Assembly mentioned that Sudan was working, through peace agreements in the south, the east and in Darfur, towards fair distribution of power and wealth among the Sudanese people. They added that the problem of Darfur is a political problem and not religious or racial and the Abuja agreement had set out a base to resolve the Darfur issue.

The US delegation asserted its readiness to support Sudan through investment projects for joint benefits.

It also pointed out that the peace agreements had created a suitable atmosphere for investment in Sudan.
