SensiGen Appoints Jay Stoerker Vice President of Product Development

Current Headlines: SensiGen LLC, a biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of advanced gene-based molecular diagnostics announced the appointment of Dr. Jay Stoerker to the position of Vice President of Product Development. In this role, he will assume responsibilities for the company's team of development scientists located in Ann Arbor, MI and will oversee commercial development of SensiGen's pipeline of ultra-sensitive, ultra-specific assays for HPV, Nephrin, Lupus, IBD and others.

Dr. Stoerker is a molecular diagnostics industry veteran most recently heading technology development at Matritech (AMEX:MZT). He comes to SensiGen with nearly 20 years of commercial assay development experience. "Jay brings the kind of experience and energy to SensiGen that will keep us ahead of the curve as we move forward translating science to commercial products," said Shawn M. Marcell, President and CEO of SensiGen. "He has the perfect mix of know-how and experience to meet the milestones set forth in our operating plan."

Dr. Stoerker holds a BS in microbiology from the University of Minnesota; an MS in applied microbiology; and a PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from The Ohio State University. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the German Institute for Molecular Virology, Erlangen, Germany.
