Examine Evolution Vs. Creationism

May 23, 10:49 PM

Current Headlines: In the editorial "Backing Away From Science." The Advocate's opinion page staff has once again declared the theory of evolution to actually be a foundation of biological science; therefore it is so.

Not hardly.

They seem hellbent (literally) on declaring creationism to be nonsense without any proving points or evidence to support them.

Why? Because the evidence does not exist, hence the theory tag at the end.

But we've been over this before. Consider that many people believe in evolution and creation.

Evolution explains the ability of certain species over time to grow wings, drop tails, develop phalanges etc. The one thing evolutionism cannot do is show where one species developed into another, which is the necessary ingredient to prove the theory of evolution.

This makes it much easier to understand Sen. John McCain's response, even if it does turn the display of ignorance over to the opinion page crew. This also turns your "scientific illiteracy" comment squarely back at you for not doing your homework on this important issue.

You comment on the GOP sinking to courting flat-earthers and religious conservatives. I believe in The Bible and want to see a devout man elected president. By the way, I voted Democrat in the last election as there are good Christians on both sides of the aisle.

If my belief makes me a religious conservative, then I am guilty, as are the vast majority of Americans today who believe in creationism.

Less than 20 percent of Americans today believe that man developed without some input from God. More than 50 percent of Americans believe in God's creation of man as put forth in Genesis. (2006 CBS poll)

I do not look for knowledge or scientific discourse on YouTube, just occasional comedic respite.

It would be nice to see The Advocate put out a seriously compelling piece on creationism versus evolutionism, as long as both sides were investigated and reported fairly.

You seem to be searching for some answers. Maybe this would help.
