Bonderman Returns to Mound for Tigers

Current Headlines:

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Detroit Tigers right-hander Jeremy Bonderman was activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday, and was the starting pitcher for Detroit's 12-0 thrashing of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Comerica Park.

The 24-year-old starter missed more than two weeks with a blister on his right middle finger. Bonderman was off to a good, albeit unlucky, start this season, going 2-0 with a 4.20 ERA with five no-decisions. Bonderman only allowed more than three runs in one of those no-decisions, and twice allowed only a single run, yet failed to pick up the win.

Nevertheless, he responded with a four-hit shutout over eight innings, raising his record to 3-0.

The Tigers optioned rookie left-hander Andrew Miller to Double-A Erie on Tuesday to make room on the roster.
