State Probing Doctor Who OK'D Smith's Meds

Current Headlines: California's State Medical Board is investigating a psychiatrist who authorized the 11 prescriptions found in Anna Nicole Smith's hotel room after she died.

Khristine Eroshevich, who reportedly was Smith's friend, has a renewed and current license and no action has been taken to restrict or suspend her license, a board spokesman confirmed for E! News.

None of the prescriptions, including the sedative choral hydrate, found in Smith's room was actually made out in her name. Instead, eight were prescribed to Howard K. Stern, Smith's companion; two were made out to someone named Alex Katz and one was in Eroshevich's name, E! News reported.

A physician who authorized methadone for Smith, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, is also being investigated by the California State Medical Board.

Reports appeared in February that he wrote a methadone prescription last summer, making it out to Michelle Chase, an alias Smith used in the past.
