Paris Hilton Faces Possible Jail Time

Current Headlines: A Los Angeles judge set an April 17 hearing to determine whether Paris Hilton should spend time behind bars for driving with a suspended license.

The Los Angeles city attorney's office said the judge could sentence Hilton to 90 days in jail if he agrees that she violated her probation when she was picked up by city police Feb. 27, E! News reported Friday.

The hotel chain heiress had been slapped with 36 months' probation, about $400 in fines and ordered to attend alcohol-education classes after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor driving under the influence count in January.

In her latest run-in, Hilton was ticketed after police allegedly caught her speeding in her luxury convertible with lights off and no driver's license. Hilton representative Elliot Mintz said last month she didn't know her license had been revoked.

Nick Velassquez, a city attorney's office spokesman, told E! News that if she did know about her license, it would be a potential violation of her probation.

And we are confident that we have sufficient evidence to prove that her license was suspended and that she had knowledge of it at the time, he said.
