Excerpt from report by Iranian news agency IRNA

Moscow, 31 March: Iran's Ambassador to Russia Gholamreza Ansari rejected the news that the Russian TV channel had attributed to him on the possibility of the trial of the arrested British sailors in Iran.

Ansari on Saturday [31 March] in an exclusive interview with IRNA correspondent said: What he said to Vesti-24 TV channel on his Friday interview was only about the fact that the arrest of the British military forces had entered its legal stage.

Iran' ambassador to Russia added: This TV channel in the translation of the part related to the arrest of the British sailors had made a mistake reporting on the possibility of their trial.

Ansari also added: If Britain had accepted the responsibility of illegal entering of its military forces to the Iranian territorial waters, the issue would have been easily settled at its early stages.
