Electronic Arts Branches into Music Label

Current Headlines: Games publisher Electronic Arts teamed with Nettwerk One Music to launch the Los Angeles-based full-service music company Artwerk label, EA officials said.

The joint venture expands Electronic Arts' partnership with Canada-based Nettwerk One Music, which includes the 2005 launch of EA Recordings, GameSpot.com said Tuesday.

Artwerk will help signed artists publish and distribute their music worldwide in both in stores and online, EA said.

Electronic musician Junkie XL, who has performed on several EA game soundtracks such as Madden NFL 07 and Need for Speed Carbon, is the label's first client. Artwerk is accepting submissions through EA's Web site.
