Mar. 22--Starbucks Corp. Chairman Howard Schultz looks on as singer Paul McCartney speaks via video feed during the company's annual shareholders meeting Wednesday in Seattle.

McCartney was introduced as the first artist signed to Starbucks' new record label, Hear Music. The specialty coffee retailer launched the Los Angeles-based label earlier this month in partnership with Concord Music Group. Starbucks has created several entertainment-linked enterprises that build on the company's consumer appeal as a coffeehouse chain.
