Current Headlines: SINGER Justin Timberlake has been snubbed by US politicians because of his racy song titles.

Plans to officially recognise the four-time Grammy winner in his home state of Tennessee have been blocked because songs such as Sexyback and Rock Your Body were considered inappropriate.

Republican senator Raymond Finney removed the proposal after colleagues in the southern state pointed out the lyrics to his biggest hits.

US Senator Ophelia Ford had wanted to honour 26-year-old Timberlake for his "meritorious service to the state of Tennessee".

The senator also proposed to honour the star for "his highly successful music career".

But Finney blocked the plan. And another politician added: "It's not something I want my name on."
