Anna Nicole Autopsy Results Coming Monday

Mar. 22--The long wait to find out what killed Anna Nicole Smith is over, almost: Broward Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper says he'll release Smith's autopsy results Monday.

The medical examiner's office today announced that Perper and Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger will hold a joint news conference at 10:30 a.m. Monday to reveal their findings.

Smith's sudden death last month at age 39 has been the subject of worldwide attention and speculation.

The mystery deepened two weeks ago, when Seminole police asked Perper to review additional evidence -- believed to be contained on Smith's computers -- before issuing a ruling on what caused the death of the former Playboy Playmate and reality TV star.

Smith was declared dead at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood after she was found unconscious in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood on the afternoon of Feb. 8.

Though Seminole police have sought the guidance of Broward homicide prosecutors in recent weeks, prosecutors have repeatedly stated that the continued investigation into Smith's death is not a homicide investigation.
